SEASONS
HERE IN MY WORLD.......we do have seasons. And it's threatening to be winter. A week or so ago there was actually a snowflake.
Yesterday, in 50 deg weather, they (we still wonder who 'they' are) predicted a snow storm for that night. It will get warmer, then get cold. But we have also learned to be skeptical of what 'they' say. Weather around here is fickle at best.
But Winter Storm Watch turned quickly into Winter Storm Warning and the grocery stores were busy with stock-up-before-the-big-storm peoples. Nononono. Your Queen was not actually IN a grocery store. This was reported by Diane.
In order to understand the weather Here In My World you have to understand the term 'Lake Effect Snow." Now we're not saying we totally understand, but the simple explanation is that the World is located at the very southern tip of Like Michigan (the 'lake' aforementioned). Now this snow looks and acts like most other snow you are familiar with. But it shows up in a strange pattern. And show up it did last night. Just not in My World.
Very cold and very windy and there were several dozen flakes, but none accumulated on streets, ground, even roof tops. Journeying almost directly east about 8:30 a.m. for 15 minutes and there is more. On the road side, on the roofs, etc. and ! some coming down from the sky. Local radio is reporting several road closures due to accidents a little south. Next county east -- another 20-30 minutes and TA DA flakes, flakes and more flakes ending up at 8-15 inches.
So. This time My World is just cold and very cold. But next time 'lake effect snow' could mean us.
